Jordanian Owns World’s Smallest Printed Copy of Quran
Ibrahim Ahmed Nawar who lives in the city of As-Salt, northwest of Jordan, has founded a private museum named “Permeant Museum of People’s Heritage”.
On display at the museum are more than 25,000 art and historical items, many of them dating back to the early 20th century.
Among them is a copy of the Quran said to be the smallest printed version of the Holy Book.
Measuring 2.5 by 1.5 centimeters, it contains all Surahs (chapters) of the Quran. One can read the verses only by using a magnifier.
The undated copy is believed to have been printed in early last century.
Nawar says he purchased it from a citizen of As-Salt back in 1980.
The previous owner had inherited the precious copy of the Quran from his father.
According to Anwar, experts say this is the smallest printed Quran in the world.
The earlier title-holder measured 2.5 by 1.75 centimeters.
